The Best Thing I’ve Seen Today: Kickstarter and Zach Braff’s ‘Wish I Was Here’
“Hell, there are no rules here – we’re trying to accomplish something.”
– Thomas A. Edison
Kickstarter is literally changing the world, right now. How cool is that? If you’re unfamiliar, they’ve provided a venue for connecting projects DIRECTLY with the people who want them. Crowdsourcing.
You may have heard of the recent success of the Veronica Mars movie, a $2 million+ initiative to create a movie for the cult-followed tv show. It broke a bunch of rules, but was still somewhat connected to Warner Brothers. And now Zach Braff is taking it a step further by eliminating the middle-man-studio all together. (!) He’s hoping to create a sequel-of-sorts to his previous movie, Garden State. Holy crap, I’m excited. With the success of these, what incredible possibility there is for artists. 🙂
